ES Alum, Halle Joy Fernandez Gotico, designed and painted this electrical box on campus, located between The Baker Center for Science and Math and The Science Building (Buildings 180 and 52).

The design incorporates an acknowledgement to the homeland people, the yak titʸu titʸu yak tiłhini Northern Chumash Tribe of San Luis Obispo County and Region, and it displays information on the first Filipino landing in Morro Bay.

At Cal Poly, we acknowledge that the land on which our university sits carries the heritage of the Indigenous People of San Luis Obispo County and Region, the yak titʸu titʸu yak tiłhini, Northern Chumash Tribe.
