About Sara Sparks 

Sara Sparks (she/her) received her B.A. in Comparative Ethnic Studies and B.S. in Agricultural Business from Cal Poly SLO in 2019. She would go on to complete her M.A. in Higher Education/Student Affairs at Boston College, and her M.A. in Ethnic Studies at UC San Diego. Now, she is in the process of completing her Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies while working as a graduate student researcher and an associate community college faculty member. 

Having a background in Ethnic Studies has provided Sara with vocabularies, knowledge, and a lens with which to approach her work. It is only through the foundation of love, care, and community that she received from Ethnic Studies faculty and students that she feels she has been able to accomplish all that she has. Even past her graduation date, they have continued to provide her with the support that she has needed to thrive. It is with great gratitude that she reflects on her Ethnic Studies education and all that it has empowered her to do for and with others.
