About Damien Montaño

I am honored to share knowledge with the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Community, situated on traditional Chumash territory. My work is informed by the artistic expressions and creative manifestations from Indigenous Nations across continents and colonial borders. My passion comes from my ancestors and community, as well as my collaborations with the Seri/Comca'ac artisans from the Village of Haxol Iihom/Desemboque, Sonora, Mexico. My work is rooted in the oceans and lands of my ancestors, and my jewelry and creations reflect these spaces.
